Shared Sacred Space: India Pakistan Tied in the Threads of Nizamuddin Dargah

A digital zine in collaboration with The Pind Collective and Zikr-e-Dilli

The zine focuses on the unique space known as Nizamuddin Dargah at the centre of Delhi, India. This space represents the life and significance of the Muslim saint, Nizamuddin Auliya, who believed in three principles: ishq (love), aql (wisdom) and ilm (knowledge). This zine aims at the intersection between religious communities and the cultural interconnection between India and Pakistan. Our history connects us more than it separates us.

I created this zine hugely inspired by traditional Islamic art, map-making, archival architectural images and botanical illustrations. Ultimately, my inspiration came from Nizamuddin Auliya himself and the vast history of Indian-Pakistani relations within and through his shrine.
