The Push: virtual exhibition

The Compass Of Racial Anti-Hate, 2021

Inspired by ancient map drawings from Asia and the Middle East. We tend to forget the histories of our multiple civilisations.

East Asia, especially China, is one of the oldest ones with rich genealogies of art, culture, and ways of social life. In modern day, especially in regard to racism, to reflect back on history and see how it has shaped us today, will help us realise the enormity of earth and its cultures.

This is compass of sorts - more so a metaphor - can be seen as a device to navigate through East Asian history and recognise its place in our world next to the many other cultures. It is equally relevant.
